What is each poker chip colour worth?
There is no universal standard, but the common home-game convention is white 1, red 5, green 25, black 100, and blue 10 where a fifth colour is needed. Casinos differ from this and from each other, so the values are whatever your table agrees before the first hand.
The values people quote as standard mostly come from the casino convention for cash chips, which does not extend to tournament chips or to the 500-piece sets sold for home use. If your set came with a printed guide, that guide is a suggestion.
What matters is that the ratio between adjacent colours stays small. A jump from 5 to 100 with nothing in between means someone breaks a black chip every second hand, and the game slows down for reasons nobody can name.
Say the values out loud before the first deal and leave a note next to the chips. This costs thirty seconds and prevents the specific argument where two players have been using the same colour at different values for an hour.
