Committed chips still matter

Folded players can add chips to the pot before leaving the hand. They are not eligible to win, but their chips still count toward the pot size.

Each all-in amount creates a layer

The calculator sorts committed amounts and creates pot layers at each distinct all-in level. Eligible players are listed for each layer.

Use live tracking next time

PokerChip.live tracks bets, pots, and player state during the hand so all-in spots are easier to review.

FAQ

Questions about side pot calculator

01

How do you calculate side pots in poker?

Group chips by each all-in threshold. Every player who committed at least that much contributes to that layer, and only players still eligible can win it.

02

Can folded players contribute to a side pot?

Folded players keep their previous committed chips in the pot, but they cannot win any pot after folding.

03

What is the main pot?

The main pot is the first pot layer that all players with chips committed to the hand can contribute to.

04

What happens when multiple players go all-in?

Multiple all-in amounts can create multiple side pots. Shorter stacks can only win the layers they fully covered.

05

Can PokerChip.live award pots automatically?

PokerChip.live includes pot and player action tracking for home games, while this page is a quick standalone side-pot helper.
